A Nation Belongs to Its People
This poster series explores the idea that democracy is shaped by everyday people and that a nation ultimately belongs to its citizens. The work aims to help the public recognize the significance of each individual’s presence in sustaining democracy, especially through the act of voting. The designs highlight the diversity of citizens walking forward together, symbolizing that a nation’s power comes from collective participation. A limited palette of blue, red, and cream draws inspiration from the American flag and evokes the visual language of the American civic landscape. Throughout the series, typography functions as an active voice that guides viewers toward reflection on civic responsibility, community empowerment, and the future of democratic values. Ultimately, “A Nation Belongs to Its People” affirms that democracy is sustained not only by institutions but by the ongoing engagement of ordinary individuals. The posters invite viewers to see themselves as active participants whose choices, presence, and votes shape the shared future.
The figures in this series were individually created using generative AI, then refined and modified in Photoshop before being composed into a cohesive collage. The final typesetting was completed in Illustrator. The promotional video was produced using generative AI video tools and further enhanced with motion work in After Effects. This multimodal development process also served as an instructional example for my students, demonstrating how AI tools can be thoughtfully integrated into the creative process to strengthen visual narratives.
