Motherhood

This project is a personal creative exploration that experiments with AI tools to translate concepts into visual language.
Midjourney was used to generate the initial images, which were then refined and modified in Photoshop, and finally composed and typeset in Illustrator. These poster works feature serene and peaceful illustrations of mother and child, celebrating the unconditional love of motherhood. Each image is designed to evoke a sense of abundance through blooming flowers, which visually symbolize love and fullness.
The depiction of a mother holding her baby expresses protection and nurturing. The overall visual direction is inspired by the paintings of Mary Cassatt, reinterpreted through the lens of traditional Asian art to capture the timeless and enduring nature of maternal love. The center poster serves as both a visual and emotional anchor, highlighting a reflective message about motherhood. This juxtaposition of delicate imagery and strong typographic hierarchy captures the dual essence of motherhood: nurturing yet powerful.

Motherhood

Inspired by the Paintings of
Mary Cassatt

This series of poster designs explores the theme of motherhood. As a mother to a 16-year-old son, the subject holds deep emotional significance for me and invites personal reflection. The visual direction is inspired by the paintings of Mary Cassatt, renowned for her tender and intimate portrayals of mothers and children. I first encountered her work during a visit to an art museum, where I was deeply moved by the serene, nurturing, and elegant atmosphere of her pieces. I purchased postcards of her artwork, which became part of my personal collection. These postcards served as both artistic and emotional motifs throughout the creative process.
